Our Story
Roasted in Seattle
Harborline Coffee started with a simple conviction: home drinkers deserve coffee that tastes like coffee, not a year-old warehouse lot with a fancy label.
We're a small-batch roaster in Seattle, roasting to order and shipping within days so your beans arrive at their peak. No inventory sitting around. No guessing how old what you're brewing actually is. Every bag tells you exactly when it was roasted.
We started Harborline because the coffee we wanted to drink didn't exist at the scale we wanted it. Mass-market roasters chase volume and consistency. We chase flavor and traceback — knowing the farm, the harvest, the processing, the hands that grew it.
How we source
Every origin story starts with a relationship.
Direct partnerships
We work with a small number of farms and cooperatives each season — not dozens, not hundreds. That intimacy matters. We know the growers, we understand their land and their process, and we pay prices that reflect quality, not commodity rates.
Radical traceability
You should know where your coffee comes from. Not "Colombia" or "East Africa," but the farm, the elevation, the processing method. Every bag carries the details. We're obsessed with the specifics because they're what make coffee taste like itself.
Roasted in small batches
Freshness isn't a luxury — it's the point.
Under 15 pounds per batch
Small roasts mean each origin gets its own profile. We're not trying to force twelve different farms into one roast curve. Every batch gets tuned to bring out what makes that coffee distinctive.
Roasted to order
You don't buy from inventory. We roast after you order, which means your coffee reaches you days after leaving the roaster, not weeks or months. Freshness compounds — the difference between a week-old roast and a month-old one is real.
Shipped within days
Most roasters roast in bulk and ship from storage. We roast, cool, bag, and ship — the whole thing happens in days. Your beans are fresher when they arrive, and they stay fresher in your cabinet longer.
Rooted in Seattle
We're a neighborhood roastery that happens to ship anywhere.
Seattle's coffee culture runs deep. It's a city where people think about where their coffee comes from, how it's roasted, and what the farmer got paid. That culture shaped us. We're rooted here — you can visit, you can ask questions, you can taste what we're working on.
But we also know that good coffee matters everywhere. So we roast in Seattle and ship nationwide, bringing the same attention to detail and traceability to home drinkers in Portland, San Francisco, New York, and beyond. One origin at a time.
